About
I am leading the Laboratory for Perceptual Dynamics at Leuven. The laboratory is funded by an Odysseus grant of FWO, the Flemish Science Foundation. The lab is interested in a Complex Systems approach to visual perception, in particular to high and mid-level vision. We combine experimental, computational and theoretical models in our studies. The laboratory consists of approximately 15 academic staff and sponsors a network of international collaboration. We also support a budding international society, the Society for Complex Systems in Cognitive Science (SCSCS). The lab also supports three international journals: Philosophical Psychology, of which I am editor together with Bill Bechtel of UCSD, Cognitive Processing, of which I am associate editor, and Cognitive Neurodynamics.
